Violence Response Team (VRT)

The Bon Secours Violence Response Team includes specially trained forensic nurses and victim services advocates, who provide care for children and adults who have experienced sexual or physical abuse, strangulation, or human trafficking. Our forensic nurses are leaders in the healthcare needs of individuals where abuse is suspected or reported, including identifying and documenting injuries, evidence collection, safety planning and expert witness testimony. The VRT serves as a liaison to community partners including attorneys, law enforcement, social services, and victim services programs throughout Virginia. In addition, the VRT provides trainings and presentations on numerous topics to bring about community awareness on topics related to those impacted by violence.

We are a 501(c)(3) tax exempt, not-for-profit organization that supports the Bon Secours Richmond Health System, its seven hospitals, and comprehensive community health, wellness and health education initiatives. Federal Tax Identification #20-1072726 (new as of January 1, 2020).
